I think public speaking is an art more than a skill, because just as an art, it involves much more than craftsmanship. You need a solid idea behind your talk, years of experience and as any other art, natural talent.

I'm sure you did excellent and you are on your way to becoming a prominent public speaker =). Maybe you would like to record yourself (or have someone record you) on your future talks. You can notice 1000 more things you didn't because your were too busy giving your speech =P

And for the best artist in this field, always go to TED talks (http://www.ted.com/) it's an incredible source of inspiration in the art of public speaking.

Cheers!

Those are great comments Fernando! Right on. Hopefully the video will come out soon and then we can pick it apart!

Other comments RE public speaking from my friend at MIT Anne Hunter:

* People focus on the humor not the content.

* I like to talk sitting on the edge of a table. It feels casual and it's easy to slip to standing for the peak parts.

* Care more about delivering your material than about how people will feel about *you*.

Do you know if a video of this or any of the other startup bootcamp talks get posted anywhere? I didn't see any on the site.

Hi Campo,

Some of the videos might be available on the Justin.tv channel. Sorry I don't have that URL with me at the moment.

The better news is that the organizers Michael and Bianca are putting together HD videos complete with slides. I'll post that URL on this page as soon as I get it!

Great tips, Adam! I highly recommend that next time you get on stage, you get a good night's rest as it will make an enormous difference in your performance. Being sharp and alert will allow you to remain focused and present, as well as more relaxed.

You can find more tips and techniques on our video blog: http://www.ConfidentlySpeaking.com

Thanks Seymour. Nice blog on public speaking!
